I know we have all done it, I hope. The kids are home from school this week for vacation. I am sitting at the computer trying to get work done. I decide that this isn't fair to them and I am going to set it all aside and we will do something special. I tell them, "get ready and get in the car I have a surprise". I drive over an hour to take them to an indoor recreational facility that they have never been to. Rock climbing, indoor glow in the dark mini golf, mini bowl, laser tag, arcade games, play land. They had it all. We drive up and wouldn't you know it they are""""""""CLOSED"""""""""""""" The one day I picked. What do I say, "surprise this is where we are going tomorrow and I just wanted to make sure I knew how to get here" I just wanted to cry, I was apologizing and felt terrible. Thank goodness, my girls just started laughing and said "it's OK mom, you tried". Thank goodness they know when you are about to snap "psycho mom" and that is when they are the most understanding and well behaved.
Has this ever happened to you. Any "psycho mom" experience for you?
